Welcome to our new website!
After many years of maintaining a low online profile, our unit recently decided to create a website to educate and inform First Nations, Métis, and Inuit students, staff, and faculty about our array of services and activities, including our many campus partnerships, as well as the institutional leadership and representation we provide on a variety of matters.
To that end, I couldn’t be happier with our site, as it will prove to be a valuable resource for years to come.
Highlights include:
- The About Us section nicely reflects the work we do, who we are, and the visionary leadership we’ve enjoyed since our inception.
- The Student section concisely describes the services, activities, and opportunities we offer Indigenous students, and serves up important information on student resources across campus.
- The Campus Engagement section summarizes the many ongoing activities we are involved in, some of which are student-focused while others are institutional-based, as well as further information on specific initiatives.
- Finally, the Longhouse section includes a calendar that lists Longhouse events only, which will allow students and others to find them easily via that channel.
So, whether you are an Indigenous student, staff person, or faculty member, or a member of the wider UBC community, we trust you will find this site educational, informative, and, hopefully, inspiring.
Warm regards,
Joely Viveiros, Acting Director
