Whether you are interested in campus athletics, advocacy, volunteer opportunities, student government, academic groups or a whole range of other programs, there is probably a way for you to get involved at UBC. And if there’s not, there are all kinds of resources available to students who would like to start their own clubs or associations! Below are some of the places you might look to get involved on campus.
UBC Peer Programs
UBC Peer Programs provide exceptional peer-to-peer support to the greater UBC campus community to enhance student life and learning through meaningful opportunities, and for students to engage in experiential learning and connect their experiences within Peer Programs to future academic and career aspirations. UBC Peer Programs leverages student leadership to support the greater campus community by supporting the personal, academic and professional growth of all students.
AMS Clubs
There are over 350 AMS student clubs for you to choose from at UBC. Or start your own!
AMS Indigenous Committee
The purpose of the AMS Indigenous Committee is to establish an Indigenous student governance system on the UBC Vancouver campus and to integrate Indigenous forms of knowledge and practice into the Alma Mater Society (AMS). Its mandate is to work with the AMS, rather than have the AMS and, by extension, UBC do work on their behalf. The Indigenous Committee is the responsible party for maintaining, budgeting and disbursing funds from the Indigenous Students Fund, which is to be renewed at the end of every September in perpetuity until otherwise declared by the UBC Vancouver student population through a referendum.
UBC .caISES
UBC .caISES provides Indigenous post-secondary STEM students and Indigenous STEM professionals the chance to network, serve the community, and engage in professional development opportunities both in the Lower Mainland and throughout North America. It is the official chapter of the American Indian Science and Engineering Society (AISES).
UBC Recreation
UBC Rec offers a huge number of activities, from exercise classes to intramural sports and instruction. Why not try something new?
